Professional Summary  

A three decades long career in multiple segments of the cottonseed industry has resulted in a considerable knowledge base for every aspect of cottonseed production, ginning, processing and utilization. Issues that limit the utilization of cottonseed products, such as gossypol and mycotoxins have been of particular interest and focus during this long career in the cottonseed industry.

 

Work History

Director of Cottonseed Research & Marketing, 01/1993 to Current

Cotton Incorporated – Cary, NC

Directed, prioritized and supervised the entire Research and Marketing activities for the U.S. cotton industry. Developed the strategic initiatives for the cottonseed industry and allocated the budget to accomplish those strategic initiatives.

Marketing Representative, 07/1989 to 12/1992

Anderson Clayton Corp. – Seattle, WA

Worked as an international commodity trader for cottonseed products, primarily whole cottonseed, meal, oil and hulls. Contacted prospective buyers and existing customers, closed the sale and arranged delivery by truck, rail or ocean container. Negotiated freight rates and ensured on-time delivery.

Associate Director of Research, 10/1980 to 06/1989

National Cottonseed Products Association – Memphis, TN

Coordinated and managed a research and marketing program for cottonseed products. Initiated and managed research that was designed to increase the demand for cottonseed products. Wrote and published feed industry articles, participated in trade shows, gave presentations and managed an advertising program.
